Hello Dear Reader(s)

Today I find myself in a little reflection of self. Partly due to a question a friend asked “What three things do people say about you?”
Well… That is hard to answer. I am not other people. I am also sure this depends on the person that you ask. How do they know me? How long have they known me? Do they know me only as a co-worker, boss or employee? Did they grow up around me in childhood? Are they family?

Not an easy question to answer.

I try very hard to be kind to everyone (Sometimes I do lose it and have been mean) and I try to stay humble. My Grandpaw taught me that. It don’t matter who you are or what you have done. Mother Nature is ALWAYS stronger than you and will show you that you are NOT in control of everything!

That brings us to EGO. That part of us that makes you want to say “Do you KNOW WHO I AM?!” Possibly not. The most famous living artists may not be known from the kid working the counter at the gas station to someone out of the art world. The Most famous athlete in that sport may not be known to someone that has no interest in that sport.

Besides my Grandpaw’s teachings on life I also remember a part from a prophecy.

“If the New People will find trust in the way of all things, in the circle, they will no longer need the selfish voice of the ego and they can begin to trust their inner voice. Wisdom will be once again be found in dreams of the night and of the day. The sacred fire will once again be lit. The Light-skinned People will be given a choice between two paths. If they choose the right path the Seventh Fire will light the Eighth Fire and final fire of brotherhood and sisterhood. If they choose the wrong path, remaining on the path of the mind, then the destruction they brought with them will come back to destroy them. The people of the earth will experience much suffering and death.”

This comes from the Prophecy of the Seven Fires of the Anishinaabe. (I have posted it before in this blog)
Perhaps that is a bit Egotistical to think I am one of the New People. Perhaps I am not. Perhaps it is my job to ensure the younger generations can trust their inner voice. Perhaps I have no role at all (Although I believe every human has a role in this prophecy)

I try to remember that all people need to come together. We all have a part to play in the unity of humanity. We all must see each other as other humans that have different ideas and backgrounds and can offer that knowledge and perspective to achieve unity.

So I ask you: “What drives you to stay open minded? What drives you to stay humble? Do you try at all? If not, why not? What do you hope people say about you? Do you actively try through actions and words to have them have that perspective of you?”
